The Open Joint Stock Company «IL» carries out operations and works for the ILYUSHIN aircraft modernization
and modification, retrofitting under the bulletins and documentation issued by the Chief Designer of
the Open Joint Stock Company «IL».
According to the recommendations issued by the Extra Special Conference of the International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO) concerning radio communications and flight procedures (COM/OPS/95) and changes in the requirements for the onboard
piloting-navigational and radio-electronic equipment applied to the international flight procedure the Open Joint Stock
Company «IL» undertakes the relevant commitments in order to carry out the following improvements:
- updating the Kurs-MP-2, Kurs-MP-70 systems aimed at the improvement of the VOR, ILS, VHF receivers interference
immunity against the VHF and FM radio stations emission;
- updating the "Baklan", "Orlan-85STA", R-862Ì radio stations in order to ensure the channels
frequency spacing for the VHF and AM radio stations by 8.33 kHz to ensure the analogue (voice) communication and
channels frequency spacing by 25 kHz for the digital communication (VDL);
- installing the VBA-2À barometric pressure electronic altimeters (manufactured by the «Aeropribor-Voskhod»
Joint-stock Company) in order to introduce the reduced vertical separation minimum RVSM after every 300m (1000f)
in the MNPS zone (technical requirements for minimum navigation performance);
- installing the listed below equipment and executing the last two mentioned below operations in order to ensure
the compliance with the regulatory requirements for the navigation performance set by the navigation accuracy
degree required within the specified airspace limits (RNP-1) in the area navigation system (RNAV) while
obligatory equipping the aircraft with the associated facilities (P-RNAV) as follows:
- "Aero Mini-M" satellite communication systems;
- "Western" transponders;
- "ÀRÌ-406P", "ÀS-1" independent emergency radio beacons;
- ZBN-1-3 ser.3 memory modules and memory cards with PCMCIA-TBN-K-4 interface in the ÌSRP-64 system
flight information storage units (recorders);
- NSI-2000 type navigation inertial-satellite-based system operating within the Global Navigation Satellite System
(GLONASS) and Navigation Satellite Timing & Ranging (NAVSTAR) manufactured by "Lazeks";
- US made KLN-90B, KLN-900 (Honeywell) and TNL-2000 (Trimble Navigation) type navigation satellite systems and
the GPS manufactured by other companies;
- aircraft collision avoidance systems TCAS (Traffic Alert & Collision Avoidance System) manufactured by
Rockwell Collins, Honeywell (USA) or SPS-2000 (Ukraine);
- advanced ground proximity early warning systems EGPWS operating on the basis of terrain topography information
(EGPWS) - (VNII RA - Navigator) and by other manufactures;
- SDK-67 and SD-75 aircraft range finders updating in order to improve their accuracy;
- PNPK "Kupol IL-76" modernization.
In accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organization noise reduction and environment protection requirements
the Open Joint Stock Company «IL» currently works in order to replace the D-30ÊP engines by the PÑ-90À-76 engines.
The Open Joint Stock Company «IL» also provides for the following improvements at the IL-76 aircraft and its modifications:
- Manufacturing and installation of the following elements in addition to the standard equipment:
- new floor-mounted mechanization;
- special tackle providing for the cargoes uniform stacking (OPG-76).
- Installation of the four- telfer optical remote control system (ODSU).
- Manufacturing and mounting the removable fire-fighting system VÀP-2 (aircraft water discharge device) for
the forest and other large area or localized fire fighting.
The Open Joint Stock Company «IL» also provides for the following:
- Renewal (refurbishment) of the passenger compartment interiors of the IL-62, IL-86 and IL-96-300 aircraft.
- Passenger aircraft modification into cargo versions, their conversion and equipping with proper installation of
the cargo doors and floor-mounted cargo moving and fixing systems.
