PJSC «Ilyushin Aviation Complex» can modernize Indian IL-76 and localize the production of passenger aircraft. This was told by the representatives of PJSC «IL» in the framework of the international aerospace exhibition Aero India 2019.
«We are currently in discussions on several topics, including the IL-76 issue, – said Vladimir Semenov, Director of the Foreign Economic Activity Department of PJSC «IL». – Today, more than twenty of such aircraft are in service with the Indian Air Force, and we support their airworthiness. We are fulfilling our contractual obligations in this part to the Indian side. In addition, we offer India to modernize the IL-76 and IL-78 aircraft fleets».

Semenov noted, that the terms of operation of the IL-76 and IL-78 aircraft, which are in service with the Indian Air Force, are coming to an end within the next five years, so this issue is extremely relevant for India.

Also, the Director of the Marketing Department of PJSC «IL» Tamara Kakushadze, shared, that PJSC «Ilyushin Aviation Complex» will actively cooperate with India on civil aviation issues in connection with the development of regional aviation operations in the country. This may be the localization of the production of IL-114-300 aircraft and the cooperation on IL-103M aircraft. A light multipurpose five-seater IL-103 can serve as an “air taxi” and can be used as a training aircraft for cadets of flight schools in India.
