PJSC «IL» and TsAGI agreed on the program of wind-tunnel simulation test of the advanced model IL-276
PJSC «Ilyushin Aviation Complex» (Transport Aviation Division of the PJSC UAC) and the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) agreed on a program of united work to improve the aerodynamic characteristics of the medium-sized advanced military-transport aircraft IL-276, during which will be specified its appearance.
«At the present time, the full model airplane has been already passed the wind-tunnel simulation test on cruising flight regimes with a smooth and high-lift wing, as well as during simulation of take-off and landing. Aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft were obtained during the tests, which confirmed the correctness of the chosen wing scheme. Thus, it will be recommended for further work on the advanced development of the IL-276», – said Pavel Cherenkov, First Deputy General Director of PJSC «Ilyushin Aviation Complex».
During the next stage of bleeding operation, will be determined the optimal sweep and the high-lift system of the wing. «The designers of PJSC «IL» need to «squeeze out» from of the proposed wing scheme all possible ascentional force and maximum aerodynamic quality. Our goal is to create a more technologically advanced wing with less weight», – explained Cherenkov.
IL-276 is a project of a twin-engine medium-sized military-transport aircraft that ensures the transportation of a wide range of cargoes up to 20 tons for a distance of 2000 km at a speed of 800 km/h. The aircraft also ensures operation from high-altitude airfields and basing on artificial and ground runways in various geographical and climatic conditions, at any time of day, in simple and adverse weather conditions.
