PJSC «IL» and RT TV channel shot a 360° video from the side of the IL-2 attack aircraft and IL-76MD transport aircraft for the first time
PJSC «Ilyushin Aviation Complex» together with the TV channel Russia Today (RT) for the first time in history shot a panoramic video with the help of special cameras installed on the fuselage of the legendary Soviet attack aircraft IL-2, which participated in aerial battles in the Arctic Circle during the Great Patriotic War, and the heavy transport aircraft IL- 76MD.
Restored by the «Winged Memory of Victory» fund with the support of PJSC «IL», the attack aircraft IL-2 took part in the international air show «ILA Berlin Air Show», which was in Germany in late April 2018. Panoramic video from the board of the «flying tank» was shooting during the demonstration flights of the plane at this exhibition. The cameras were installed in such a way that you could fully wrap up in flight and feel yourself on the board of legendary Soviet aircraft.
Heavy military transport aircraft IL-76MD got into the lenses of panoramic cameras at the rehearsal of the air part of the Victory parade in Moscow. Unique frames were made not only outside but also inside the cabin and allow viewers to get full experience of the presence at the helm of the world-famous aircraft.
«It is a great honor for us to take part in the Victory-related project. Also, it is professionally interesting, because it is necessary to make changes in the design documentation of the aircraft for the installation of such equipment, because no one mount should violate the aerodynamic properties of the machine and the safety requirements. The teams of professionals from PJSC «IL» and RT-channel had worked together and made very interesting projects», – said Alexey Rogozin, Vice President of the transport division of the UAC, General Director of PJSC «Ilyushin Aviation Complex».
«The legendary IL-2 – the first aircraft, manufactured under the brand name «IL» – became one of the symbols of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. We are proud that we were able to touch and see this page of history and give viewers the opportunity to see panoramic shots from the side of this attack aircraft. As part of a joint project with the PJSC «Ilyushin Aviation Complex», we will show the aircrafts from new angles, which, I'm sure, will delight any viewer», – said Eduard Chizhikov, the head of RT360.
