«IL» OJSC and Pratt & Whitney Canada have signed the agreement on Il-114 program reload
The signed document specifies plans of the parties on discussion of business agreement possibility on the program for fitting some of Il-114 aircraft with P&WC engines. The signing of the memorandum took place in France as the part of business program of the International Aerospace Show in Le Bourget.
«Main engine will be a modernized home produced TV7-117. At the same time the previous version of Il-114-100 is operated fairly regularly with Pratt&Whitney engines», - explained Director General of «IL» OJSC, Vice President of PJSC «UAC» Aleksei Rogozin. «The company sees the interest to the aircraft both from our traditional partners and from new potential customers. Taking into account this interest and the history of exploitation the signed agreement shall offer new additional opportunities for the aircraft promotion to the international market. First of all this is the case for those partners who are already operating this aircraft or aircraft of other manufacturers with Pratt&Whitney engines», - told Aleksei Rogozin.
Expansion of opportunities for choice of engines significantly helps the process of entry to the international aviation market for customers of Russian aircraft.
«IL» OJSC and P&WC worked together on the regional Il-114-100 aircraft in the end of 1990s and beginning of 2000s. The first flight of Il-114, equipped with two turboprops PW127H was made in January, 1999 after what the aircraft was certified to be entered into the aviation register of the Interstate Aviation Committee. Ten Il-114-100 aircraft were manufactured in Uzbekistan in compliance with «IL» OJSC documentation and starting from 2002 were supplied to the first customer - «Uzbekistan Airways» Airline Company and being operated until present day. The aircraft was presented at many international aviation exhibitions and attracted attention of potential customers from all around the world, but then the program was suspended.
«After being provided with modern passenger compartment, modern precision guided navigation system and flying range up to 4500 km it will correspond to the advanced demands to a regional aircraft both of Russian and foreign customers», - noted Aleksei Rogozin.
