Alexey Rogozin, VP for Transport Aviation, to become the head of the main UAC transport company – OJSC «Il»On April 21, 2017, during the business meeting at OJSC «Il» President of UAC Yury Slyusar introduced Alexey Rogozin, Vice President of UAC for Transport Aviation to the company staff. Alexey Rogozin will take charge of the main company of the transport division - OJSC «Il».
In accordance with the UAC management model of the newly forming divisions, Alexey Rogozin will retain the post of UAC Vice President for Transport Aviation. Such structure has already been put into practice in combat, strategic and special, as well as civil aviation.
The changes are due to the logic of transformation of UAC corporate structure. The target model involves a step-by-step transition to a single company with the formation of four divisions - civil, military, transport and special aviation. Transformations that occur in accordance with the new Corporation Strategy were approved by the Board of Directors of United Aircraft Corporation in December last year, and they are aimed at improving the efficiency of aviation program management.
OJSC «Il» becomes the main company of the forming transport division, which will becom the basis for merger of other assets - VASO, Aviastar-SP, UAC-Transport Aircraft, Myasishchev Design Bureau, as well as a number of aircraft repair facilities.
The task of the new head is to consolidate the key management functions of enterprises at the level of the parent Corporation and to build a single management path of the transport aviation programs - the heavy Il-76, the light IL-112, the promising medium and super heavy airlifters. This will increase the efficiency of operational activities at all stages of the life cycle of aviation equipment, reduce non-production costs by centralizing managerial functions, including the coordinated fulfillment of contract obligations by building types of equipment.
One of the key goals that the division companies will face is the execution of the government defense order and ensuring the long-term requirements of the Russian Ministry of Defense and other executive authorities in renewal of the transport aircraft fleet.
The development of transport aviation programs is one of the priorities of UAC in the coming years due to the huge deferred demand from potential customers. In addition, the renewal of the fleet of military transport aviation is among the primary objectives of the new government arms program.
