OJSC «Il» design engineer Denis Ilyin takes medal place in the III national championship WORLDSKILLS HI-TECH 2016Yekaterinburg hosts III national championship WORLDSKILLS HIGH-TECH 2016. The event took place at international exhibition centre Yekaterinburg-EXPO from 30 October to 3 November. Over 300 young specialists from leading Russian corporations participated in the competition. Performance of young professionals in 27 skillsets was evaluated by more than 400 experts, including international specialists from 20 countries.
OJSC «Il» as part of JSC UAC team was represented in the Prototyping contest by 2 category design engineer Denis Ilyun. The expert in this competition was OJCS «Il» 1 category design engineer Anastasia Bezborodova.
Eight specialists competed in this contest, two of them are members of the Russian national prototyping team. In the course of the contest the participants had to manufacture an article from the given drawing. The task was divided into 5 units. The competition took three days: the first three units occupied the first day, the remaining ones – the next two days. The task of the first unit was to make 3D models of parts and assembly components from the given drawing. In the second unit the contestants had to make an assembly drawing of the item. The third unit task was to create a 3D model of a fan from STL-model, acquired during 3D scanning. The fourth unit required the manufacturing of designed parts by 3D printing and mechanical conversion on a CNC-milling machine, finishing of outside surfaces of parts, assembly and adjustment of the item. The final fifth unit included the painting of the item.
«The task was very interesting. Each extra action, incorrect setting of a 3D printer or violation of safety measures could cost precious time and points. For me the main challenge in this task was writing a control program for the CNC-miller, because it is a purely technological question which I don’t deal with in my daily work. In my opinion, «Prototyping» contest is a great training area for evaluation of engineer as a specialist in different areas of technical expertise», said Denis Ilyin.
All winners received diplomas, medals and presents from sponsors of the event.
WorldSkills is a non-profit international movement with the purpose to improve the prestige of blue-collar professions and to develop the professional education.
We congratulate Denis Ilyin on the second place in prototyping contest.
