Ilyushin Aviation Complex took part in Gidroaviasalon’2016 exhibition

Ilyushin Aviation Complex OJSC took part in the 11th International Exhibition and Scientific Conference on Hydroaviation Gidroaviasalon’2016 organized with the support of United Aviation Corporation.

Gidroaviasalon’2016 was held at the premises of the experimental test base of Beriev Aircraft PJSC located in Gelendzhik Bay and at Gelendzhik airport on September 22 – 25, 2016.

IL-114-300 turbofan passenger carrier model designed by IL OJSC was presented at the integrated UAC PJSC exhibition stand. IL-114LL airborne laboratory aircraft owned by Radar MMS company took part in Gidroaviasalon’2016 flight program.

For the first time ever at the Gidroaviasalon exhibition, the first modernized IL-38N ASW aircraft was presented to the exhibition visitors. The given aircraft was designed by IL OJSC and named in honor of Rady Papkovsky.

Reference information

Rady Petrovich Papkovsky, Soviet Union aircraft designer was a Laureate of the Lenin Prize and Titled Aircraft Industry Worker. Rady Papkovsky had worked for Ilyushin Design Bureau for 55 years starting in the position of Design-Engineer and ending in the position of Chief Designer of Design Bureau.

Rady took active part in development of design and theoretical issues on special-purpose equipment, as well as its serial production start and commissioning on boards of such aircraft as IL-14, IL-18, IL-28, IL-38, IL-62 and modifications thereof.

In 1978 Rady Papkovsky was awarded with the title of a Laureate of the Lenin Prize for his significant contribution to development of military-transport IL-76 aircraft. His successful work experience in the sphere of aircraft industry helped him to get such awards as Order of the October Revolution, two Orders of the Red Banner of Labour, Medal for Strengthening of Military Cooperation, Medal Veteran of Labour, as well as Title of Honoured Aircraft Industry Worker, etc.

On July 15, 2014, the first serial modernized IL-38N ASW aircraft was triumphantly delivered to the Naval Aviation Forces. The given aircraft modification was named after its aviation designer –Rady Papkovsky.
