Aircraft of Il make participated in the aerial part of the victory parade in the sky over the Red Square

This year, five aircraft of Il make took part in the aerial part of the Victory Parade.

The latest military transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A participated in the aerial part of the Victory Parade for the first time and headed the parade formation of planes. In the skies over the main square of the country, an aircraft flew over carrying onboard the name of Viktor V. Livanov, Director General – Designer General of OJSC Il in the period from 2006 to 2014, Designer General of aviation complexes of Russian transport aviation in the period from 2012 to 2014 , winner of the Russian Federation State Prize in the field of science and technology, Doctor of Economics, Head of the Department of Special Aircraft and Aeronautical Information & Measuring Systems, Faculty of Aeromechanics and Airborne Vehicles of MIPT, honorary aircraft industry worker, holder of the Order for Merit for the Motherland, Order of Badge of Honor, Order of Peoples’ Friendship.

Also, a group of three Il-76MD military transports flew over in a parade formation as well as Il-78 air tanker, which showed a simulation of Tu-160 strategic supersonic bomber in-air refueling.

To prepare the Russian Airspace Forces (RAF) aircraft to the parade, specialists of the “Ilyushin Aviation Complex” were engaged. Being directly involved in assessing technical condition of the aircraft at military aircraft home airfields they confirmed the aircraft readiness to perform responsible tasks in the sky over the city of Moscow.
