OJSC "Il" hosted solemn ceremonies dedicated to the 71 th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War

On May 6, 2016, a solemn meeting dedicated to the Victory Day took place in the territory of OJSC “Il". The celebration was attended by the guests of honor represented by veterans of war and labor. The event started with laying flowers at the monuments of Sergey Ilyushin and Il-2 aircraft.

A solemn meeting was opened by Sergey Velmozhkin, the Director General of JSC "Il" who congratulated veterans and employees of the enterprise with the 71st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. "Victory Day is a bright date, many generations of our country are proud of,” Sergey Vladimirovich noted.

Henry V. Novozhilov, Honorary Designer General of the Company, traditionally addressed those there present with warm words. "I bow Sergey Ilyushin and all his colleagues who created Il-4 long-range bomber and Il-2 outstanding attack aircraft. The planes made a significant contribution to our victory. “Il” aircraft flew, fly, and will fly to defend our country," Henry V. Novozhilov said.

The solemn meeting ended with awarding the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, liquidators of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, winners of internal sport competitions.
As a part of the celebrations, an entertainment program was organized for children of employees of the “Ilyushin Aviation Complex” with competitions on military and aviation subjects and a master class in aircraft modeling.

Also, demonstrations and final competitions in motorsports, a concert were organized that day by the young specialists of the enterprise. At the end of the day, a friendly mini-football match between teams of OJSC "Il" and the guests of the “Ilyushin Aviation Complex” took place.
On May 5, the delegation of veterans and employees of the enterprise, according to the tradition, traveled to the city of Istra to lay flowers to the monument of Il-2.

Solemn ceremonies dedicated to the Victory Day are held annually according to the tradition. The company honors the memory of the soldiers - veterans of the Great Patriotic War and homefront workers who have made a huge contribution to our common victory and earned the eternal memory and recognition of the new generations.
