OJSC “Il” participates in the 51th Paris Air Show 2015 in Le BourgetAt the Paris Air Show 2015 OJSC “Il” presented its engineering developments in military-transport aviation. As part of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation joint exhibition stand the models of the heavy military-transport Il-76MD-90A and the Russian-Indian multirole transport MTA (Multirole Transport Aircraft) were shown.
Representatives of European and Latin American companies displayed big interest in the Il-76 aircraft family as effective fire-extinguishing means, said OJSC “Il” Director for Foreign Economic Activity Vladimir Belyakov at Le Bourget 2015.
“During the exhibition we held meetings with representatives of European and Latin American companies, who showed big interest in the Il-76 aircraft as effective fire-extinguishing means. Great attention was paid to the most acceptable uses of the aircraft, equipped with fire-fighting equipment, for the parties”, said V. A. Belyakov.
He also added that foreign partners learned about experience of operation of the Il-76 with fire-fighting equipment by EMERCOM of Russia and military-transport aviation of the Russian Air Force. Organizers of the Mexican air show Feria aeroespacial Mexico invited OJSC “Il” to demonstrate the fire-fighting Il-76 next year.
During the meeting with press at the air show V. Belyakov confirmed that EMERCOM, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other government institutions, besides the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, could become customers for the Il-76MD-90A. Negotiations on supply of the aircraft are in progress.
Further V. Belyakov said that the joint Russian-Indian development of multirole transport aircraft could become the basis of aircraft for different purposes. “Together with India we develop a single platform which can be the basis for different variants of an aircraft. The history of development of aircraft of the basis of the Il-76 exemplifies this pattern,” said Belyakov. He reminded that the transport Il-76 had been in operation for over 40 years and more than 30 modifications had been created on the basis of this aircraft.
